Veronika Mescheryakova, from Kazan, Russia suffers from a form of porphyria which affects her nervous system.
An operation to alleviate the symptoms a few years ago failed to help her and she now has short-term memory loss and paralysed limbs.
As a result Veronika does not remember that her husband divorced her in November last year.
She starts every day she thinking her husband is at work.
When he does not come home at night, her mum has to tell her again about the divorce, leaving her heartbroken all over again.
She reportedly weeps over and over again about her lost love.
Her unnamed husband’s reasons for the split were not made public.
Local media report that her mother is helping her re-learn how to walk and that the caring mum hopes Veronika will one day reconnect with her ex.
On line commenter “Vyacheslav Petrov” said: “I feel so sorry for her that I want to cry.”
Another one “Andrey Schulz” added: “Maybe they should tell her that she was the one who left him.”
Porphyria is a group of disorders in which the body is unable to cleanse organic compounds known as porphyrins, which then interfere with the normal operations of the nervous system and skin.
